MOMMY AND ME/ Rachel Odom Pre K: Ages 2-4

Interactive parent-child environment set to engage creativity and inspiration. Exploring the realms of color, texture, and more while experimenting with new and innovative materials. Each week we will start with story time, then make a piece of art that ties in with our story. We will play with paint, crayons, markers, scissors, glue, maybe even glitter!

Interactive environment geared towards the mini artist ages three to four. Developing fine motor skills and color theory, while experimenting and exploring as time travelers with art through the ages. We will play with paint, crayons, markers, clay, and maybe even glitter!

Want to be the next Picasso-Dali? Learn to draw and paint with projects inspired by master artists, with incorporation of two masters into one creative and new art. Interactive fun environment where creativity soars!! Students will practice traditional drawing and painting basics with various tools.

Ever love playing in the mud? In this class, not only is it ok, but we encourage it! In this interactive experience you will be introduced to the basic techniques of working with clay. Create pinch pots, use the coil, and slap methods to create creative and original works of art.

In this introduction to studio art, children will gain skills in drawing, painting, sculpture, design and color theory. They will learn about visual arts in diverse cultures. Students will use a variety of media, including clay, to express their creativity in developmentally appropriate ways, while having fun and sometimes getting messy. Children should dress for outdoor, visual walkabouts (weather permitting) and for creative, process oriented activities.

FUN WITH COMICS/ Catherine Moore Grades 3-7
Thu 4:30-6 PM 3/29-5/24 Fee: $176 Class #111
In this class, students will learn how to use sequential images (also known as comics!) to tell a story. Using their favorite comics and cartoons as examples, students will learn about plot development, delivering punch lines, sequencing pictures, and, of course, drawing imaginative characters. This class will help students with verbal and written storytelling skills as well as give them drawing practice with a variety of media. Students will finish this class with a three-page comic book, complete with cover, along with character development drawings.
CREATIVE PORTRAITURE/ Catherine Moore Grades 8-12

In this class, students will use portraiture as a medium to express their creativity, identity, and self-expression. In addition to learning the basics of traditional portraiture, students will create portraits of themselves, friends, and family through inspiration from many different sources and mediums, including a “Portrait from the Past,” inspired by genealogy, a zodiac self-portrait, a mosaic portrait, and more! Students will complete the course with four or more portraits to bring home.
TEEN FIGURE DRAWING/ Ben Smith Grades 9-12
Sat 10 AM-12PM 3/31-5/19 Fee: $208 Class #113 (8 Weeks)
This class is for a mature artistic student with the passion to improve their craft. Teens will draw from a leotard or bathing suit model to develop skills in figure drawing. They will learn methods to enhance line quality and gain a deeper understanding of figure-environment relationships. All levels of experience are welcome. Please bring an 18"x24" rough newsprint pad, #2B pencil, Pink Pearl eraser, conte crayon, soft vine charcoal, and a kneaded eraser to the first class. A model fee of approximately $50 will be collected from each student at first class meeting.
