Chinese painting is an active meditation, which will help you to slow down and have more focus in all areas of your life. You do not need to know how to draw! By learning strokes, techniques and patterns on an individual basis, you will acquire the tools to enable you to have a creative outlet. PAINTING HEADS IN ANY MEDIUM/ Marie Matthews
Explore the excitement and challenge of painting the head in the medium of your choice. Working from a live model, participants will learn specific techniques for rendering heads and faces that are solid, convincing, and alive. The course will begin with rendering the head in black and white, and color will be introduced as the quarter progresses. This course will include a combination of exercises and demonstrations. Drawing experience is a prerequisite for this intermediate level course. A model fee of approximately $50 will be collected at the first class.

Open Studio is a new opportunity for drawing & painting students to work without an instructor on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-9:30pm during the entire session. Class Fee: $88 ($70 for students enrolled in Early Autumn session). The drop-in rate is $15 per visit for anyone not registered for this open studio class.
