PAINTING WORKSHOP
LANDSCAPES IN OIL WORKSHOP: EN PLEIN AIR AND IN THE STUDIO/ Libby Matthews
Painting, en Plein air has its challenges and rewards. The painter learns quickly to see . . . color, value, shapes and texture... The passion of wanting to capture a moment in time is never ending. This class will help participants bring that freshness and the passion of en Plein air landscape work into their studio paintings. The focus will be on composition, color, value, and simplification. Students will learn how the juxtaposition of color and value creates harmony and depth in their work. Knowing how to paint in the studio using an "en Plein air" approach is knowledge valuable in keeping paintings fresh, alive and spontaneous. Weather permitting, we will work en Plein air and in the studio.
