“No Goal Is Too High If We Climb With Care And Confidence” Art Conservation

Share this Reclaiming The Fairlie Poplar Gateway

No Goal is Too High If We Climb with Care and Confidence, a sculpture located at the footsteps of Georgia State University is truly a gateway to the future and depicts students climbing toward their goals.   This artwork has undergone a transformation of its own after the City’s Public Art Program partnered with Chick- fil-A  inc. to restore the artwork.   This latest art cleaning administered by the City’s Office of Cultural Affairs has re-invigorated the Adopt and Artwork Program which encourages long term partnerships with the private sector to enhance the quality of our public art collection.  This sculpture was originally created at the GSU Sculpture Forum in 1995 and was donated to the city by Chic-fil -A Inc. to commemorate their commitment to higher education through their Scholarship Program.

The Public Art Program Manager Eddie Granderson and Office of Cultural Affairs Director Camille Russell Love are thrilled to unveil the newly restored artwork that functions as landmark gateway into the historic Fairlie Poplar District.  Look for the newly refurbished sculpture at Poplar and Peachtree St. just to the South of the historic Flat Iron Building.

The Office of Cultural Affairs Public Art Program operates on the premise that art enhances the quality of life for our citizens by encouraging a heightened sense of place, increasing our community's prestige and enlivening the visual quality of Atlanta's built environment. The program promotes a public initiative of outreach and education while working to preserve the city's cultural heritage.

The OCA/PAP is committed to creating community through public art and builds upon community support to conserve, preserve and make available public art to citizens and visitors in Atlanta.  For more information, contact the Office of Cultural Affairs Project Supervisor, Robert Witherspoon at 404-817-6758 or ocaatlanta.com
