Brad Goldberg is an artist, sculptor and idea generator who has conceptualized, fabricated and installed over 80 site specific art projects in the public realm in the United States and internationally over the past 35 years, and has extensive experience participating on design teams for urban projects. Brad has a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Sculpture) and a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design. His thesis project was a study of the success of public sculpture within the urban context of New York City with Doris C. Freedman, President of the Public Art Fund, as his advisor, and he was awarded an ASLA Honor Award for the Study of Landscape Architecture. His early years reflect a keen interest in the intersection of art and place, which has permeated his life’s work.
Brad has served as lead artist and participated in projects dealing with issues of urban renewal, community healing, land reclamation, sustainability, wet-lands management, brown-field reclamation, alternative energy and water preservation.
Brad is a Fellow of the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture, is on the Advisory Council for the University of Texas in Arlington School of Landscape Architecture and for three years was on the Board of Directors of the Dallas Architectural Forum. He has been awarded three Public Art Network “Year In Review” by the Americans for the Arts, and received awards from the American Institute for Architects, and the American Society for Landscape Architects, including a Centennial Medallion Award for Mears Park, the redesign of a full city block park in the historic Lowertown district of St. Paul, Minnesota, as one of the best projects in the United States in the past 100 years.
