As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) begins to have an increased impact on the region, we feel it’s important to keep you updated on the steps we are taking to help keep you, our staff, our instructors, and our community safe and healthy. This page serves as an evolving guide to the Chastain Arts Center’s response to the virus and will include the most up-to-date information on the status of our programs and events.

Chastain’s Plan of Action

  • The Chastain Arts Center will be closed effective March 13th until March 31st. Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19, the City of Atlanta has closed all city facilities to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus.
  • The Chastain Arts Center will be closed until further notice.
  • We recognize and acknowledge the inconvenience these changes may cause. However, these decisions have been made out of concern for the health and well-being of our greater community.
  • We plan to work with teachers and students in the event that classes/workshops need to be postponed, or classes are missed. Our primary modes of communication for updates are via email ( and our website. We recommend all patrons check their email or visit our website.
  • During this uncertain time, gift certificates are a wonderful way to support the Chastain Arts Center, and for anyone to attend future classes/workshops, purchase clay, or purchase artwork in our gift shop or gallery. Please reach out to Alma ( for gift certificate purchases.
