Ex-Static is an installation located north of the Civic Center Marta Station. The piece is fabricated from aircraft elements donated by Lockheed Martin Aeronautical Systems and was intentionally built within an urban landscape to ease pedestrian direction and circulation by acting as a link between the Civic Center Marta Station and the Civic Center. The title of the work originates from a stencil found on one of the engine pylons, which read: “Ex-Static Test Program.”
Atlanta-based sculptor, Maria Artemis created this piece. She works in a variety of media to engage viewers with their environment.
